An album with works by Sciarrino and Ockeghem has been released this May, which includes the quartet's experience in the project. Music in Silence.

This is an original production by the German label BACKLASH Music in which the Lassus Quartett, a string quartet led by violinist Joel Bardolet, set out to rehearse and verbally record the piece. Shadows in the morning of pier of the contemporary composer Salvatore Sciarrino.

For five days, the musicians experimented and documented this recording. The experience was reflected in a documentary film and also in the eponymous album published by BACKLASH Music and which includes the work of Sciarrino together with the Kyrie and theAgnus Dei (I and V movements) of the Mass 'Mi-Mi' [Missa Quarti Toni] of Johannes Ockeghem.

Seed and the quartet will present the album and the project in Barcelona, on May 15 at 7.30 pm at the Arts Santa Mònica. The teaser of the documentary will be screened as part of the event. The Lassus Quartett will then offer a concert with works by Kurtág, Cage and pieces by Ockeghem recorded on the album. In addition, record label and artists will have the presence and complicity of the composer Joan Magrané, which will shell out the singularities of the concert's repertoire.  

The event will culminate with a talk with the musicians, who will explain in person how they lived this experience.

Lassus Quartett, also at the Barcelona Poetry 2019

The day after the presentation of this album, the string quartet of Bardolet will play as part of the Barcelona International Poetry Festival -Thursday 16 May with the company Baron of Evel-, at the Palau de la Música Catalana where, next year, they will debut as part of the stable concert season of the Palau.
