Now, when we have been playing together for twenty years, after so many concerts and recordings at Festivals around the world. Now, when we know almost the entire repertoire written exclusively for trumpet and piano so wonderful and at the same time unusual in chamber music rooms (we speak of works by A. Honnegger, G. Enesco, P. Hindemith, R. Peaslee , N. Bolter, J. Turrin, E. Ewazen…). Authors from different styles, countries and eras who have created music with textures and harmonies in dialogue between the two instruments. They have made the sound of the trumpet a voice capable of transmitting sensations, emotions, with many colors and timbre richness that at the same time dialogues with the sound of the piano, looking for a wide range of sonorities and chamber plays.

Now, then, we have felt that it is time to leave engraved some of these little great works that have accompanied us on our journey. They all have meaning to us: they moved us in their day and continue to move us to this day. The sound that is created, the harmonies, the contrasting characters and, above all, the complicity and freedom that is generated between us when we interpret them. Because the four elements - fire, earth, water and air - are represented in music and in us. Warm moments, volatile moments, precise moments, imaginary moments.

We are very excited that for the occasion a composer we admire, Salvador Brotons, has written and dedicated a work to us with the strength, energy and sensitivity that his pieces convey. Vital Impulse.

To round it off even more, the great Manel Forcano has put the lyrics. Fire, Earth, Water and Air describe with the beauty of the poet's words the essence of the whole record.

Temperaments it is, therefore, an album with intentions, where the four elements are reflected everywhere: in our individual essence, in our essence as a duet, and in the essence of the music you will listen to. Because we have our feet on the ground, our head in the wind, our heart on fire, and our ductile thoughts like water.

Many thanks to each and every one of you for making it possible for us to be where we are today, and that Temperaments be a reality.
