INFLUENCES, THE DISCOGRAPHIC DEBUT OF THE COSMOS QUARTET

The new and brand new first album of the Cosmos Quartet is already a reality. The chamber ensemble formed by Helena Satué and Bernat Prat, violins; Lara Fernández, viola and Oriol Prat, cello, will present the album at the beginning of May Influences published by Seed Music (SEED008), and can be purchased at the label's online store.

The disc, which combines works by Haydn and Brahms and a premiere by the composer Raquel García-Tomás, is the recording debut of these four performers as a stable formation. In addition, the work was recorded with an element that makes it even more particular and that is that all four instruments were designed and created by the prestigious luthier David Bagué, who conceived them especially for each of the musicians of the Cosmos Quartet.

Influences, recorded at the AXA Auditorium in Barcelona in October 2018, is an album published by Seed Music with musical production by Santi Barguñó (N, Neu Records). The renowned journalist and music critic Antoni Batista signs the book-disc comments, which give added value to the volume complemented by Michal Novak's photographs.

The recorded works are:

Joseph Haydn
String Quartet op. 64, núm. 6 in E b major

Raquel García-Tomás
Così mostaste a lei i vivi ardori miei (First world recording)

Johannes Brahms
String Quartet op. 67, núm. 3 in B major

The album will be presented in concert on May 6, at the Auditori del Conservatori del Liceu (Barcelona).
